2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid – Review and Specs

Ford constructed C-Max hybrid to become the most affordable multi purpose vehicle in the US. 2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid will be available, and we can expect this car, in fall this, or early next year. This compact MPV resembles Prius V in many ways, but offers much sportier ride and perkier design.

Under the Hood

Base SE and premium SEL models are what makes hybrid’s lineup, and C-Max is available as a plug-in energi model as well. Powertrain consists of 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I4 engine and electric motor system which, together with eCVT transmission deliver a net hybrid power output of 195 hp. 1.4 kWh Lithium-Ion battery sits at the back and takes up some cargo space since loading floor and tailgate aren’t on the same level.

2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid Design

Visually, C-Max hybrid looks like any other Ford thanks to the hexagonal chrome stripe grille and laid-back headlights. Of course, being a wagon, it has its differences since it is much longer than, per se Focus hatchback. Rear end has lowered roof, huge tail-lights and a roofline spoiler.

Inside there’s plenty of room for five people. It has very futuristic look thanks to the plastic and metallic accents which were used in its cabin. Dashboard is very complex, especially around infotainment cluster which has couple of vertical airvents and a CD player insert at the top if you opt for a SYNC with MyFord touch which is standard in SEL model. SE model has CD insert positioned lower, however, between the small display and audio controls. There’s also a choice between standard six speakers and optional nine Sony premium speakers. While base model has cloth-furbished seats, SEL model has leather appointed seats and 10-way power adjustable driver seat. Safety features include stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes and emergency brake assist, and advanced airbag system, but don’t offer any advanced electronic features.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy ratings are at 42 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. These are solid numbers which have been cut twice in three years since they weren’t exactly accurate. In fact, they have been much bigger, so much that Ford still pays previous model owners in order for them to make up for the extra money they had to spend on fuel.

2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid Price and Release date

Prices will jump a little when new model arrives and they’ll probably match the numbers that 2014 year model used to have when it was made available. Expect SE model to cost around $25,000 and SEL model to have a price tag of $28,000.

2015 Ford C-max hybrid is a great way to move lots of people and cargo around, and still don’t spend much fuel. This MPV has a great design and above average set of features at affordable price which make it very popular.
