2016 Acura ILX Release date and Price

2016 Acura ILX is an affordable, luxury compact sedan which offers the car’s first facelift since it was introduced to the markets three years ago. Price for this edition is very close to the previous model. Traditionally Acura is one of the most popular car producer, especially in USA.

Reworked model is now tightly specialized and throws away surplus of powertrain choices its predecessor used to offer. Compact is now sportier and executes better driving dynamics as well.

The Engine range

There’s only one option under ILX’s hood now, and it is the stronger of two: 2.4L 4-cylinder capable of putting up 201 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Sadly, manual transmission is also a thing of the past as 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox is the only option responsible for routing the power to front wheels. Thanks to this setup, however, 2016 Acura ILX offers some nimble handling which can’t be found even in some smaller cars. Even though it is a sedan, ILX shows remarkable stats while commuting, and it is a good choice for long distances as well.

Fuel economy ratings have gone up slightly, thanks to the new automatic gearbox unit and 2016 Acura ILX is now rated at 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

2016 Acura ILX Redesign

Compared to the outgoing model, 2016 Acura ILX offers slightly, but effectively reworked front fascia. Frontal chrome garnish has been lowered and is now positioned in the middle of the grille, while bumper has been changed too, and features an open lower air intake at its bottom. Headlights are another design improvement and they now consist of five circular led units. Apart from new set of wheels, there are no differences in ILX’s profile, and rear end has been almost carried over as well. Only bumper has been slightly reworked to fit some open spaces between stop lights.

Interior changes are also rather mild. New ILX has kept all of its materials and color options intact. Even dashboard has remained the same, but instrument panel has been reshaped in order to fit dual-screen infotainment system. 8-inch display unit remains high up in dashboard’s special housing, while another 5-inch option has been mounted below it more closely to hand’s reach. With them, the whole instrument panel has got a different shape, but that’s pretty much it. Considering new ILX’s feature list, everything else has remained the same. Compact executive car still offers optional GPS-linked climate control and voice recognition controls.
